What is green?
Green is the color of nature. It suggests stability and growth; it also indicates endurance and hope.
Green is related to safety
“Going green” means reducing the overall environmental impact of your business.
We use third party, independent lab testing and every claim we make is backed up with these tests.
We are environmentally responsible
Our fabric protectors are WoolSafe approved www.woolsafe.org and our water based fabric protector recently received the WoolSafe EnviroSeal certification, the first and only fabric protector to ever receive this certification.
“Congratulations to Fiber ProTector! There are many other WoolSafe approved protectors, but yours is the first to get WoolSafe EnviroSeal.” – Dr. Agnes Zsednai, Managing Director for the WoolSafe Organization
- Fiber ProTector does not contain harmful fluorocarbons or PFC’s.
- Fiber ProTector is hypoallergenic.
- Fiber ProTector is bacteriostatic.
- Fiber ProTector allows fabrics and textiles to “breath”.
- Fiber ProTector will improve indoor air quality (IAQ).
Independent lab tests show that Fiber ProTector decreases the electric charge between dirt particles and textile surfaces. This reduces static electricity and makes vacuuming “twice as effective”. The end result is your carpets and fabrics will stay looking new for a longer period of time and the indoor air quality of your home or business will be vastly improved.
“The latest test showed that it was easier to remove dust from treated carpet. This is positive for the indoor environment, because one of the problems with carpets is their ability to hold dust and dirt.” -Pawel Wargocki, at The Technological University of Denmark
Tests And Test Results
Air Permeability Test – View Test
This test shows that fabric treated with Fiber ProTector retains its breathability. The ability of air to pass through the fabric is not affected.
Bacteriostatic Reduction Test – View Test
A sample fabric was treated with Fiber ProTector and allowed to dry. Staphylococcus aureus and Klebsiella pneumoniae were put on treated and untreated samples of fabric and incubated for 18 hours. The untreated samples had a significant increase in bacterial growth. The treated samples had a 99.9% reduction rate.
Fluorocarbons Content Test – View Test
This test shows that Fiber ProTector does not contain any perfluorooctanic acid (PFOA)or any perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS). Click here to read about perfluorinated chemicals.
Skin Patch Test – View Test
This test shows that no skin irritation was detected when testing 20 individuals. Cotton fabric samples were soaked with Fiber ProTector and dried. The dried samples were placed on the forearms of 20 test subjects. After 24 hours the patches were removed and the test subjects forearms were examined. There were no reactions to the patch samples.
