Our immediate goal is to carefully inspect your rug upon its arrival to our studio and determine the following:
- Its physical condition and level of wear. Does it have any rips, tears, pile or knot loss? Are there any visible stains? Are the fringe and side cords intact and stable?
- How soiled is the rug? Does it have a high level of pet hair or unusual spots, sun fading, dye migration, or color loss?
- Does the rug have any odors due to pet stains, water damage, smoke, or food spills?
- Does the rug have a soft luster or a dull stiff feel?

Once we have documented your rug and taken a photograph for our files, we may have additional questions such as:
- Do you use padding for your rug? If so, what type?
- When do you estimate your rug was last cleaned?
- Is your rug from a high traffic area in your home or business?
- Do you have pets or young children that enjoy your rug?
